Announcements

Volunteers for the yard crew: We need men to volunteer to help keep our parish grounds looking good by joining the mowing crew. It is a good opportunity for service and enjoying some camaraderie with the other men. See the bulletin board for contact information.

Volunteers needed for Church cleaning: Please help keep the interior of our parish clean, tidy, and beautiful! We need volunteers for parish hall Sunday clean-up and for cleaning the other facilities midweek. See the bulletin board for contact information.

In the vestibule of the church, there are also collection boxes for the First and Second collections, along with the Building Pledges box for turning in pledge cards and pledge payments. Donations may also be sent in by mail to our secure mailing address: St. Michael’s Catholic Church, PO Box 1691, Roswell GA 30077.  We are very grateful for your generosity — may God reward you!

Retreats: There are many retreat dates available throughout the year in our U.S. retreat houses. Demand is high and space is limited, so plan now. Traditional Ignatian Retreats are almost unknown in the modern church and even more unknown in the modern Jesuit order. The Society has been giving these silent retreats since its inception and strictly follows the format and meditations of St. Ignatius. See here to learn more about the traditional retreats we offer in the U.S. retreat houses and and to see available dates.

Angelus Magazine: The Angelus is the flagship publication of the traditional movement. From its humble beginnings, the Society has brought forth generations of priests, religious, and laity who have flown the flag of Tradition in all its fullness, with our press apostolate being an important part of that work. Visit angeluspress.org to subscribe to the magazine and, of course, to browse the large array of good Catholic books offered by Angelus Press.

Omnia cooperantur in bonum: “And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints” (Romans 8:28). Alongside your duties of state, always take time for prayer, family activities, good spiritual reading, and in all ways fostering the interior life of both adults and children. Find a good book and read some of it each day, using it to fuel your mental prayer during that time. It can be a book with teaching about various aspects of the Faith (catechetical in nature), about the lives of the Saints, Church history, commentary on Sacred Scripture, writings of the Fathers of the Church, papal encyclicals from the popes who once handed on the Faith unblemished, and so on. There is a lot to choose from.

Visitors are always welcome. To learn more about Catholic Tradition, visit sspx.org.
