Saint Michael’s is a parish belonging to the Society of St. Pius X. We serve a community of faithful Catholics who come from around the Atlanta Metro area, the surrounding region of North and Central Georgia, and from as far as Alabama, Tennessee, and Western North Carolina.
The faithful come for the Traditional Catholic Mass in Latin (Tridentine), the Sacraments conferred in the Traditional rite, traditional catechism and devotions, and in everything finding the perennial and unchanging doctrine of the Church as she has passed it down for centuries, in all of its doctrinal purity and missionary charity.
St. Michael’s is an active and very social Traditional Catholic community. Our parishioners form a tight bond with each other and enjoy spending time together not only in prayer, catechism, and at the Holy Mass, but also after Mass, catching up with each other and sharing with each other, whether over coffee and refreshments, or over one of our frequent potlucks or barbeques.
St. Michael’s is firmly inserted into the life of the Society of St. Pius X as a whole. The Society recognizes the importance of frequent social contact between its priests, faithful, and the world at large. Community life, education, and apostolic works are crucial in forming a complete Catholic society. The SSPX, therefore, supports a wide variety of these initiatives, ranging from primary and secondary education to local men’s and women’s groups to Ignatian retreat centers. Many of the SSPX parishioners from throughout the USA meet up for the Angelus Conference in Kansas City each fall or for the jam-packed weekend of Ordinations at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Dillwyn, VA.
There is something for everyone. We hope you take advantage of the many opportunities to share your life with others. Remember: a healthy faith is a growing faith! We are commanded by Our Lord in the Gospel to share what we have received with everyone.
Saint Michael’s was established in 1978 and has been fulfilling this mission in Atlanta for over forty-five years.
